WORK

by David Carlo

When someone wants a rebrand, it mostly goes like this.

"I want a new logo, new colors, new everything."

They get bored with their own identity, so they chase newness.

They're convinced that's the solution, a fresh visual start.

What are you running from?

My first question is always the same: what are you running from?

Because most rebrand requests aren't really about design.

More often they're about a gap between how the brand looks and how it actually operates. New visuals won't fix that. They'll just make the disconnect more expensive.

I've talked clients out of rebrands. Told them their brand is fine, the logo isn't why customers leave.

Branding involves finding clarity. Only afterwards design can work as the source of translating truth into visuals and reconnecting a brand.
